I have been meaning to post this for sooooo long! I had a great time seeing my cousin Sarah and meeting her sweet boy!!! What a sweetie!
This post is LONG past due! Sometimes life gets the better of me.
I was just looking back at the session that I had with Theo in the beginning of March and I CANNOT believe how much he has changed. Unbelievable! He is now sitting without tipping over too much and rolling over like a champ. He was a bit on the sleepy/tired side so we kept the session a bit short. Luckily though, Tobin did not run from the camera this time!
Alison and Tobin, it is alway so much fun hanging out with you guys! I can't wait to do it again once Theo starts to crawl! Here is a quick slideshow of my favorites.
On Saturday I was lucky enough to spend some time with some good friends of ours and their sweet little boy who is about 6 months. I cannot believe how much he has changed over the winter. He used to be this skinny little thing and now he is a big chunk. He's awesome!
On a more personal note – with all of the rain that we had on Sunday – we awoke to massive amounts of water in our basement/my office. My Mom came over and helped Mike and I clear everything out, throw things away, and brought us yummy coffee. Hopefully the boys won't start saying s***!
If we have learned anything from this, it is:
1. Friends and family are amazing (HUGE thanks to Katie for taking the boys for me)
2. Don't keep important things on the floor of your basement....ever
3. Put surge protectors on milk crates to keep them off the floor (smart idea Mike)
4. Check the sub-pump during winter rains.
5. Our six year old handled it way better than we did. He came up with a simple fix it plan of re-routing the water to go into the tub. Genius! :o)
And, above all else:
“Fall seven times, stand up eight.” - Japanese proverb
I will update this post later with a slide show. In the mean time, here are a few of my favorites of sweet little Theo!
I really need to post a wedding from last year. However, I saw this and totally related! Sometimes I feel like the guy with the cowbell (except, hopefully my shirt doesn't ride up as much.)
We could all use a little more cowbell.
How is this for the random post of the day?
So, here I am trying to catch up on long but not forgotten posts. I will start with a session I had with our son's best friend, Drew. This guy is totally amazing and his Mom is fantabulous! The two of them have this magic that is priceless. Drew was such a sport! We were at his grandparent's house and it was near impossible to get him off the swing that his grandfather had just made. There is no wonder...that thing was awesome! If the seat wasn't so small, I would have given it a try!
Here is a slideshow that I put together of my favorite images.
Okay. I just had to get all of this out of my system (this is Heather, Mike's wife). To get more portrait work under my belt, a few of my neighbors kindly lent me their children for an hour. Let me just say how great our neighborhood it! It has been so wonderfun getting to watch all of our children grow up. Not only is that great, but the kids are all amazing. No joke. So, here are a few samples from the shoots. Not too bad for my first solo shoot.
Hello! I have taken over the blog post! My name is Heather and I am Mike's wife. I've been doing all of the album design and I am totally loving it. As a matter of fact, I love it so much that Mike and I have decided that I should start shooting with him as well. I am so excited about the possiblities. I have loved photography for as long as I can remember.
From what Mike has told me about the Maria and Austin, he thinks they are WONDERFUL! Such a great couple filled with laughs and easy to work with as well. What a great combination!
They were so happy on their wedding day and I think it truely shows through the images. It was a great album to design. I love working with Mike's images.
I hope you enjoy the album. We are trying a new format, so any comments are always appreciated! And hey, if you want to see a larger version of the album, go here.
